GITEC Welcomes Jim Shanks

The GITEC Board of Directors would like to welcome Jim Shanks, President of CDW-G and Executive Vice President of CDW, to the GITEC Executive Advisory Committee.

Shanks oversees the CDW-G's initiatives in the federal government, state & local governments, K-12 and higher education markets. In addition, he leads the senior management team and oversees the company's strategic direction.

Serving as the CIO of CDW from 1993 until 2001, Shanks is one of the original architects of the company's e-commerce strategy. A technologist by training, he applies his IT knowledge to better understand IT challenges from the customer’s point of view.

Prior to joining CDW, Shanks held management positions at Autotel and the American Hotel Registry.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Barat College and a master's of business administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
