Nominations for Interested Board, Associate, and Executive Advisory Council (EAC & FEAC) Members


Thank you for your interest in participating in GITEC Leadership! GITEC is a non-profit, volunteer organization. Board members, Associates, and EAC/FEAC members volunteer their time and energy to managing the organization, planning an annual Summit, organizing local events, and obtaining sponsorship for GITEC activities. Below is a list of expectations for the roles: Please note that positions on the Board of Directors are only open to government employees.

Board of Directors:
*Max of 15 members. Board members must be serving as civil servants from any International or Domestic Federal, State, Territorial, Local
or Tribal entity. Board of Director Members will normally be a GS-15, SES, or SL.

Board members
are expected to:
  • volunteer on at least one committee (GITEC Summit, local events, marketing/outreach, nominations, financial management, etc)
  • actively participate in two monthly conference calls (typically the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month from 5-6pm via conference call/webmeeting)
  • attend quarterly work sessions with the Executive Advisory Council (typically 2 hour meeting in the DC metro area)
  • attend 1-2 local events held in the DC metro area and the annual GITEC Summit
Associates (Board/EAC):
*Max of 14 members. Half of these (7) must be civil servants from any International or Domestic Federal, State, Territorial, Local or Tribal entity (Associate Board Members) and half (7) must come from the private sector (Associate EAC members).

Associate members
are expected to:
  • provide support to the Council to enhance the Council’s activities and will be mentored by a member of the Board or EAC
  • volunteer on at least one committee (GITEC Summit, local events, marketing/outreach, nominations, financial management, etc)
  • actively participate in one monthly conference call (typically the 3rd Monday of the month from 5-6pm via conference call/webmeeting)
  • attend quarterly work sessions with the Executive Advisory Council (typically 2 hour meeting in the DC metro area)
  • attend 1-2 local events held in the DC metro area and the annual GITEC Summit
Executive Advisory Council (EAC):
*Max of 20 EAC members. EAC members must be senior private sector officials.

Executive Advisory Council members are expected to:
  • sponsor the Annual Summit and other events at an appropriate level OR serve to bring sponsorships to support the Council
  • volunteer on at least one committee (GITEC Summit, local events, marketing/outreach, nominations, financial management, etc)
  • actively participate in one monthly Board+EAC conference call (typically the 3rd Monday of the month from 5-6pm via conference call/webmeeting)
  • attend quarterly work sessions with the Board (typically 2 hour meeting in the DC metro area)
  • attend 1-2 local events held in the DC metro area and the annual GITEC Summit
  • support the GITEC Summit

Federal Executive Advisory Council (FEAC):
*Max of 5 FEAC members. FEAC members must come from the active Federal Senior Executive Service (SES)

Federal Executive Advisory Council members are expected to:

  • participate in the Annual Summit of the Council, providing assistance where necessary and appropriate
  • assist in furthering the partnership between government and industry by facilitating the sharing of information technology information on technical, management, and educational issues
  • volunteer on at least one committee (GITEC Summit, local events, marketing/outreach, nominations, financial management, etc)
  • actively participate in one monthly Board+EAC conference call (typically the 3rd Monday of the month from 5-6pm conference call/webmeeting)
  • attend quarterly work sessions with the Board (typically 2 hour meeting in the DC metro area)
  • attend 1-2 local events held in the DC metro area and the annual GITEC Summit
  • support the GITEC Summit

Other Volunteering Opportunities We welcome and encourage those who are interested in GITEC and Information Technology across government and industry to volunteer on one of GITEC's committees, regardless of if you are a member on GITEC's Board, Associates, or EAC/FEAC. Important Note For Government Employees

Completed applications will be submitted to the board and nominating committee immediately after they are completed, and may be accepted within a few days of completion. It is important that all government employees receive appropriate clearances from their ethics officers before beginning this application. Please contact the GITEC Staff if your ethics officer requires any additional documents to complete this approval.
