Mark Hamilton is an accomplished
senior information management executive and skilled strategist who has run
complex programs, achieved change, and developed organizational capability, and
improved operations and service delivery.
His capabilities include running large complex organizations with national
responsibility for annual budgets exceeding $5 billion with line direction of
thousands of employees as well as leading small staff and program development
functions.
Mark comes from the US Department of
Justice (DOJ) where he is spearheading organization-wide culture
transformation. His work has lead to DOJ
improving its data center operations.
Mark has over thirty years of
experience in information management and has provided consulting and program
management services to both for-profit and governmental clients. He has previously been affiliated with the US
Environmental Protection Agency, Northrop Grumman, ICF International, Unisys,
Centex, and Smith International. His
engagements with the US Departments of Defense, State, Treasury, and the Intelligence
Community provided services that include: application development (.Net and
Java); network design and operations; data management, information assurance;
and enterprise architecture. At present,
he serves as the Information Technology Program Manager for Infrastructure
Technology Services for the Justice Management Division.
Mark is a
certified information management professional and holds several credentials that
include: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Information
Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certified; Microsoft
Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Project Management Institute, Project
Management Professional (PMP); and the National Defense University (NDU), Chief
Information Security Officer Certificate.
Mark has received
several awards, to include: a Bronze Medal
for his work with EPA’s, Office of Environmental Information and an EPA CIO
Award for his work as EPA’s Enterprise Architect Leader for the Water Segment. He graduated in 2006 from the Council for
Excellence in Government (CEG) Senior Fellows Program, serves as a board member
on the Government Information Technology Executive Council (GITEC).
Mark is a cattleman with operations in Texas and California, although
he spends the majority of his time in Washington DC in public service. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in
Earth Science from the California State University. He is an avid offshore and coastal sailor / navigator,
alpine skier, scuba diver, mountain biker, motorcycle rider, and equestrian.
